Dear Stakeholders,
the following survey is part of PCC Group's sustainability reporting engagement and we would like to ask you for your help. We kindly ask you to provide your knowledge and your opinions on a range of questions around environmental, social and governance issues. This survey is hosted by nova-Institute, who are supporting PCC Group in the preparation of the reporting.
The survey's objective is to validate and finetune the selection of sustainability topics and sub-topics that are relevant for PCC Group's business. On the following pages you will find a number of sustainability topics such as climate change, biodiversity, working conditions etc. and you will be asked to assess whether they are relevant for PCC Group or not.
What is relevant?
According to the European reporting legislation, topics become relevant, if they fall in one of the three categories:
IMPACTS
If PCC Group's business activities have an impact on a certain topic (such as energy, climate change, ecosystems, water use, etc.), actually or potentially, negatively or positively, then this needs to be noted. Depending on how high the impact is ranked, it will be decided whether it is relevant enough for reporting or not.
Example: PCC Group's production requires significant amounts of energy. The topic "energy" would be deemed as relevant.
RISKS
If a certain sustainability topic poses a financial risk to PCC Group's business activities, then this needs to be noted. Depending on how high the risk is ranked, it will be decided whether it is relevant enough for reporting or not.
Example: Climate change leads to more extreme wheather events, such as droughts. Water transport will be facing problems more often. This is a risk for PCC Group's supply chain and could be ranked medium to high.
OPPORTUNITIES
If a certain sustainability topic offers a business opportunity for PCC Group, then this needs to be noted. Depending on how high the opportunity is ranked, it will be decided whether it is relevant enough for reporting or not.
Example: The upcoming legislations on reduced carbon footprints for a number of products can lead to increased demand for PCC Group's low-carbon products.
The survey covers all topic and sub-topics that are set by the European Sustainability Reporting Standards, which are obligatory for all companies. However, you do not have to provide input on all the topics. In the beginning, and in between, you will be able to indicate which topics you would like to answer questions on. You will only be shown the selection of topics then.
If you encounter any problems or would like to get in touch for another reason, please contact the nova team at [email protected] or at www.nova-institute.eu/imprint/
Thank you,
the PCC Group reporting team
